It was a pleasure exhibiting my piece “Unter Auen” at a side event of @Bauhaus Fest Dessau

Concept
We rarely notice what holds something up. A background — Hintergrund — is what makes the foreground possible: the frame nobody looks at directly, the labor nobody credits, the structure quietly bearing weight so something else can shine.
This is not an exhibition about backdrops. It is about the people, systems, and histories that stand behind action — the collaborators behind a finished work, the organizers behind a movement, the quiet infrastructure behind change. What happens when we turn around and look at what usually stays unseen?
For students, artists, and residents living in Dessau, Bauhaus itself has long worked as exactly this kind of background — a constant backdrop shaping how people think, make, and move through the city, whether or not they ever name it.
Parallel Visions this year invites artists to explore how their own life and work has been shaped by what stands behind it, seen or unseen.
